For this reason, they are most often in the form of a narrow rectangle, the height of which is much lower than the length. Another factor influencing the size of the cellar window is safety considerations. Cellar windows are smaller so that a potential burglar cannot pass through them. In standard sales, these windows do not exceed 50 centimeters in height and 100 centimeters in length, but many companies make basement windows to order for customers, so you can find houses with larger basement windows.
Basement windows – security features
The basement windows available on the market are solidly built, with strong frames and protective slats to make it difficult to break in. Additional grilles or external blinds are also good security features. Since basement windows protrude little above ground level, they can be an easy target for a potential burglar, so it’s a good idea to use additional security features.
